Estos libros están dirigidos exclusivamente a las bibliotecas de los niveles Secundario y Superior, Escuelas Técnicas, y Bibliotecas Populares y Municipales, como herramientas de apoyo cultural y pedagógico para docentes y bibliotecarios.
Lejos de ser obligatorios, estos textos no están destinados directamente a estudiantes, sino que buscan enriquecer los recursos pedagógicos disponibles para los educadores. En cada obra se especifica el público recomendado y, en ciertos casos, se señala “requiere acompañamiento docente” para guiar su uso adecuado en el aula. Esto permite a los docentes abordar los temas en un marco seguro y reflexivo, con la intención de fomentar el debate y el pensamiento crítico.
Además de Identidades Bonaerenses, la Dirección ha lanzado la colección ESI en las escuelas bonaerenses. Más derechos en las aulas, compuesta por 28 títulos que abarcan temas de Educación Sexual Integral (ESI), dirigidos a diversos niveles educativos y también destinados a las bibliotecas escolares. Este material cuenta con guías específicas para el abordaje docente, permitiendo a los educadores tratar temas de ESI de manera adecuada y contextualizada.
Ambas iniciativas son parte de una política de lectura que busca garantizar el acceso a la cultura en toda la provincia, promoviendo el respeto por la diversidad cultural, social y geográfica de Buenos Aires.
